Moreover, close ties with Subaru and other manufacturers show that IHI not only provides time-tested products but also adapts them to new engine projects that meet increasingly stringent emission standards.

However, some tuning or motorsport enthusiasts argue that IHI turbos are less popular than other well-known brands, such as Garrett or BorgWarner. One reason is that IHI is more focused on OEM (original equipment manufacturer) collaborations, and its aftermarket platform development is less aggressive. Nevertheless, IHI Corporation is gradually increasing its recognition among automotive tuning specialists, especially with the VF series models, which are considered reliable and efficient tuning foundations.

In the future, IHI Corporation will continue to delve into the development of electrified and hybrid turbochargers, as well as continue research on hydrogen utilization. These directions ensure that the company will remain an important part of the technology development chain, aiming to combine lower emissions with uncompromised engine performance.
